Volunteers
- For over 20 years, Indian River Shores Public Safety Department has benefited from an active, dedicated group of citizen volunteers. In just 2018 alone, the volunteers provided hundreds of hours of service to the community.
Volunteers make deliveries to the courthouse, transport patrol cars to the Sheriff’s Garage for repairs, obtain supplies/equipment from retail outlets in town, and assist in the front office with computer input by repairing reports and completing filing. Volunteers also utilize the ATVs to patrol the Town’s beaches while on alert for persons endangered by medical emergencies, monitoring the surf and tide, and removing any hazardous materials that may endanger sea turtles.
The Department is always seeking new volunteers and any interested Town resident should contact us for more information.
